Welcome to Manta Divers & the Underwater World

Our Background:

Manta Divers was originally established in 2008 as the only dive facilty in the area that focused solely on providing exciting snorkelling and scuba diving experiences for children. We offer the full range of PADI programmes for children, which you can find at Manta Kids. All of our instructors who work on childrens courses have undergone Enhanced CRB Checks.

A few months later, as a result of frequent requests from parents, we also introduced PADI scuba diving and TDI technical diving courses for adults and older children. You can find this range of PADI programmes at Courses.

It is not exclusively families though, we are running courses for everyone and anyone. Manta Divers do not mix adults and children on our courses (except family groups and by request) as we appreciate that some people may not want to join the kids and also understand that adults and children have very different learning styles and requirements.

Our business has grown a lot and we now regularly run courses from our base in Maidenhead, Berkshire, using swimming pools in Reading and Amersham, with open water training dives taking place at NDAC Chepstow, Wraysbury Dive Centre, or Vobster Quay.

You can either join one of our scheduled small group courses or we can arrange 1:1 training to suit your timetable if you prefer. We also run private courses at schools, leisure centres and family homes, so if you have your own pool, we can come to you!

Our Approach:

The Manta Divers Team of Instructors and Divemasters is headed up by Carl Yates (PADI Course Director and TDI Instructor) and Kaye Bunyan (PADI IDC Staff Instructor). Our team has over 30 years years experience between them in running courses for both adults and children and have done thousands of dives all over the world. So you're in good hands!

Professionalism, quality, safety and loads of fun are what you can expect from your course with Manta Divers. We believe your training should be "serious fun". For that reason, and to ensure you get the most from your course, we ensure that group sizes are kept low. Our focus is on Quality not Quantity. The maximum number of students to instructor is 4:1 on our certification courses, so that you get all the undivided attention that you deserve.
