Now you've qualified as a diver, you've probably realised that there is a lot more to scuba diving than you first realised!  The Advanced Open Water course introduces you to some more techniques, skills and knowledge that will make your scuba diving even more enjoyable, increase your confidence and enhance your diving abilities.  And no, you don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed so you can go straight into it after the PADI Open Water Diver course.

The Advanced Open Water Diver course is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI instructor.  This course builds on what you’ve learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and different types of scuba dives.

As with all PADI courses, you will need to read the course manual and complete the Knowledge Reviews in advance of your course.  But the great news is that there is no final exam this time!

There are five dives to be completed.  There are two compulsory dives - Deep & Navigation.  You get to choose the remaining three dives with your instructor.  Popular dives include honing your buoyancy skills (Peak Performance Buoyancy or Drysuit), learning the basics of wreck diving (Wreck) or trying your hand at taking photographs underwater (Digital Underwater Photographer).  Or how about trying Diver Propulsion Vehicle!
