Open Water Diver

Part 1 (Referral course):         4-5 evenings or 2 days (usually at a weekend)

Part 2 (Open Water Dives):    2 days (usually at a weekend)

15 years old  (or 10 for Junior Open Water Diver)

Medically fit

Able to swim 200 metres (any stroke) and float or tread water for 10 minutes

Part 1 (Referral course):          £255

Part 2 (Open Water Dives):      £160 (if booked separately)

Full course (i.e. parts 1 & 2):   £395

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of two parts.  Part 1 covers the knowledge development required to understand basic principles of scuba diving and the confined water (swimming pool dives) where you learn basic scuba diving skills.  Part 2 is where you do four open water dives where you get to put it all into pracice.  These dives are usually conducted in a freshwater lake within easy travelling distance where we have access to changing and toilet facilities, refreshments and easy access to the water.

You can either sign up for the whole Open Water Course with us here in the UK or join us on one of our overseas holidays to complete your four open water qualifying dives in warmer and clearer water. 

Alternatively, if you already have a holiday booked and plan to scuba dive when you get there, why not get all the classroom and swimming pool work (i.e. part 1) out of the way before you go, so that all your precious holiday time can instead be spent beneath the surface of the waves meeting all the beautiful, local marine life?  You can do this by just completing an Open Water Referral course and then do the four open water qualifying dives at a later date with another dive school on holiday.  Of course, if you decide part way through that you want to get the four qualifying open water dives out of the way as well before you go, so you have even more time on holiday for pleasure dives, you can always upgrade from the Open Water Referral course to the full Open Water course and complete the dives with us here as well.
