The purpose of the Rescue Diver course is to encourage divers to look beyond themselves and their own diving and to start thinking about the welfare and care of others. The course will teach divers the techniques that are vital in preventing problems and promotes awareness of potential dangers before, during and after a dive. This is a rigorous but highly rewarding course which covers areas such as:
- Self rescue
- Recognising and managing stress in other divers
- Emergency management and equipment
- Rescuing panicked divers
- Rescuing unresponsive divers
As well as completing CPR and First Aid training and the PADI Rescue Diver course, you should also consider taking the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty course. Together, these three courses round out your ability to handle scuba diver emergencies. After that, you can consider:
Master Scuba Diver
Divemaster
